Actually, turns out re-imaging was all that was needed. Yay!
I don't think the flash memory is near its R/W limit, because I hardly ever use the thing... mostly I just wanted to see if I could use it to pass data back and forth between my Ubuntu machine and my laptop.
EDIT: aaand the laptop isn't detecting it in any of the 3 USB ports. WTF?
Why don't you change it, then? Unless you either a) are comfortable with the regular Ubuntu logo, or b) don't know how to do it.
If it's b), then here's how:
1. Go to "about:config" in your address bar. Click the "I'll be careful, I promise!" button.
2. In the search box, type "useragent".
3. Add "Kubuntu" (or change it from the default) in "general.useragent.extra.firefox". Or just change wherever it says "Ubuntu" in those results to "Kubuntu".
To be honest, I didn't care enough to worry about it. However, now that you have gone to the trouble to post up how to do it, I will make the change after this post to show my appreciation.
