I'm "field-testing" my laptop...by posting from outside!

It might be dark out, but it's actually fairly comfortable.

I'm hiding in the bushes. I've also upgraded half of my machines to 13.1, only glitches were user error, because I like to keep me on my toes.....apparently.

Lot of people can not stand that heat. It claimed more than 10 lives with heat stroke.
That is Indian summer.

I prefer the US version of Indian summer which means fall!

I prefer no Summer weather...
Let's go with fall all year round, eh? My allergies are least then, and the temperature is always nice.

Telling myself I should be working on the bathroom rather than playing in General, but I'm just not listening.

Thinking of doing one of two things:

1) Getting a (guaranteed Linux-compatible) PCI wireless card for my Ubuntu machine so that it can connect to the wireless network without having to reboot the router

2) Moving the NVIDIA card and (some of the) RAM over to my Arch desktop, moving my /home data to the laptop, and just selling my Ubuntu machine.

1 seems easier, 2 might be an interesting idea, though. Plus, there would possibly be money in it!

I'll have to see if that thing has mobo graphics, though. If it doesn't, then idea number 2 is a no-go.

Trying to restore my thumb drive's functionality as...well, a thumb drive.

I'm dd'ing a backup image file I have of it on my hard disk, and I'm hoping that'll set things straight.

The problem is that it identifies itself as being read-only. I have no idea how to change that other than to re-image it and hope for the best.
