Has everyone in the Excited States forgotten about Global Warming in this Great Presidential Spectator Sport, which unlike the Olympics (also scheduled for this year) is not being postponed by Covid-19?
It is certainly moved to a less immediate priority but I certainly haven't forgotten. I've been maintaining a specific Anthropogenic Climate Change Poll Thread here with regular updates in General since August of 2018.
If you don't like what your opponent says/asks, interpret it an insult and consider it a lie, then blame your opponent for being an insulting liar.
In other words, consider what your opponent says a personal attack and counter that (imagined) attack, personally.
You can also
invent other personal attacks just to deflect from the unpleasant statement/question
create an enemy and accuse your opponent of being in cahoots with it
...
I'm not saying DT invented all of this but he certainly made it a household item during the past 5 years.
It makes actually discussing politics damn near impossible.
And it is obvious that this "style" has influenced some of the posters here.
@eight.bit.al: Consider posting actual articles instead of google search links. Example.
I listened to a conservative (*) news item yesterday, incl. an interview with a journalist currently in the US and some medical expert. It is quite obvious that DT is not cured yet, even though he arrogantly claims that Covid19 isn't so bad after all, and pretends (my opinion) that he's feeling dandy. He could relapse every day, and maybe he already did without telling anybody.
It was apparent from things his doctors said, and omitted to say or avoided to answer.
Not only his pointless SUV drive, but his return to the White House are generally regarded as highly irresponsible, endangering not only DT himself but also everyone who works near him. Although it was pointed out that the East wing is rather empty already because many of his aides have contracted the virus already. And that is another important point left out of the discussion: not only DT but his family and underlings have been infected last week!
Not to speak of the insult to families of people who died from COVID-19 and did NOT have enough money to pay for several 24/7 doctors in the best hospital of the country.
(*) I cannot stress this enough: everybody outside the US of NA sees DT in a very critical light, and there has been a sort of continuous slackjawed incredulity about his actions over the years, and his lack (not complete absense though) of policy.
edit: no more time to link relevant articles. It was a radio programme in Finnish anyhow. But the information is out there, in the mainstream. I recommend all US Americans to search for news globally. Being native English speakers, I guess UK/Australia/Canada are obvious alternative sources. US American media seems pretty unreliable these days.
The immediate problem obviously is that Trump has got away with it, or believes he has, and is therefore confirmed in his policy of ignoring covid-19 as no big deal and getting the economy back to normal. If I were God and wanted to reduce the number of Americans in the world, I couldn't have contrived it better.

Very interesting point. Trump isn't the Anti-Christ. He may be the Anti Republican! ... well at least anti "poor republican", an oxymoron if there ever was one. Could you possibly conjure up something to cull a few extremists on the Left? Maybe then every little thing would cease to be politicized and we might return to some semblance of sanity!... or at least more normal collaborative madness.
The drugs are available to doctors in the US to prescribe as they see fit. They are available to all doctors in the US for the most part.
To get the antibody drug, He had to get OK'd the FDA & supplier company. I don't think a poor, non-white, non-native American would get the same treatment.

Very good point!
And it's true what Ondoho says. Not so many friends of Trump outside the US. Just look at an outside news source. They have a 'reality_check' feature, and being state owned, they don't run ads and are not too much in anyone's pocket. http://bbc.com/news
FWIW I have 4 news sources outside the US bookmarked for regular perspective. I'd add Russian and Chinese News sources but one area that the US truly is severely lacking in is study of any language other than "'Murican", and I'm fairly guilty as well.
It is my understanding that many Europeans understand upwards of 4 languages quite fluently. I've "met" (online) people who learned English from TV Cartoons like The Simpsons. I can barely imagine Americans being so open, motivated, and industrious in the area of language, but given that popularity it's hard to understand why we don't at least get credit for poking critical fun at ourselves. OTOH many non-Americans imagine America is some sort of homogenous village, having no concept of the size and diversity here.
For curiosity sake, and possibly some long overdue perspective, here's a map showing 30 European nations fitting into US borders with room to spare.
Has anyone here read a book called "A Planet for the President"? It was originally written as a satire on George W Bush, but it eeriely anticipates Trump in many ways. It ends with a lethal pandemic depopulating the world and leaving only the US president alive.
Didn't read the book, hazel, but I'm sure there's a lot of parallels between George W & DT. Lack of vocabulary, for instance.
Don't Bother about Russian & Chinese news sources. I have one friend fluent in Both Languages, and knew many with one of them. "The news" = Ministry for Propeganda output.

Naturally that is to be expected but I think it is still valuable to track for a complete Big Picture.

And a large number of people INSIDE the US see him in the same critical light because of his actions and his statements, which continue to bring disgrace to the office of POTUS. Sadly, there are a large number of people here in the US that think exactly like him so are staunch supporters.
I am pleased to see that some Republicans are starting to think Donald has "jumped the shark" with Covid. Saying the flu was worse than Covid after 200,000 US citizens have died and after he received healthcare treatment worth roughly $100,000.00 USD for such a "common cold" and after every scientific source has stated Covid is far worse than seasonal flu is NOT good leadership and poignantly demonstrates how far removed he is from a large percentage of his "grass roots" supporters... but then how could he relate?
FWIW He was worth $4,500,000.00 USD in 2020 dollars by age 8 (must've mowed a helluva lotta lawns, eh?). The moment he was born he had a bank account of over $250,000.00. I think he does tweet some things just for effect and misdirection but he also often just digs the hole deeper. For awhile I wondered if his infection was a way to avoid the humiliation of debating where the moderator has a switch for his microphone.

I'm a 'staunch supporter' and 'don't' think "exactly like him", he's simply far better than the alternative, IMO.
