fluxbox screenshot (not sure if i'm gonna keep it... just trying it out)

Hey, maybe this isn't the time or the place, but i've got a few questions about other WMs... mainly E17. I've heard that many people are waiting for it's stable release, and I decided to look into it. I saw some screenshots, and they look pretty nice, but what real advantages are there to it? What's so great about it? (i'd just like to know to determine if i should try it out, or if it would be a waste of time for me) Thanks. Oh, and thanks for telling me my link didn't work. i guess i should test these things out beforehand... oh well

WanglessOlasov: that site appears not to alloow direct links to pics - try embedding it an html page or something. Anyway - the link didn't work for me.

Trinity22: cool - what is that? Doesn't look like any desktp I've seen.

Looks like the KDE kicker on the right, desktop icons on the left, and simply a strange wallpaper.

Well, its a full-blown desktop rather than just a WM, so you get a lot of the stuff you'd get with kde/gnome without the bloat, (mind you Xfce and rox are desktop environments to, to a certain extent.) There are therefore loads of supplemental programs, as well as the WM, and they have some pretty interesting features by the sound of things, though i never liked eterm much... anyway, it looked like the kind of environment that would be comfortable to work in, which is basically what i look for... Anyway, it certainly won't be a waste of time, you'll at least broaden your choices, and you're almost bound to learn something in the process.
