Here is a picture of my FreeBSD desktop. It's ion and you can't see it but there are a couple other workspaces that have other windows or programs. Gaim is up in the right. Next to it is cmus for my music. Below it is irssi for IRC. Off to the left is my web-browser.

Yes, my desktop is 2960x1050 -- and yes it is still too small -- it's dual monitor with nvidia acceleration. I actually get pretty decent performance out of it too.

It's down-right boring compared to most people's here. But I like functional and out of the way... much more than I like pretty.

Edit: Sorry... removed original image and added this... because the gaim buddy list had some personal information in it which I would rather not give out.

I used ion for a while years ago... I respect the function over beauty too, I just can't help it - when I see new eye candy, I'm drawn in like a moth to a flame... perhaps I'll burn for it one day hehe

Hey, I can't help the fascinating topics some of my conversations involve. Well, I probably could. That's actually pretty tame. And you can see how involved I was (lol being just like ACK in a conversation -- I've seen your message). We actually went back later and discussed the topic more. It was a good one. My friend there is fairly religious and involved with some serious pentecostal fun-times. Since I'm the opposite of all that, he often bounces the more insane happenings off of me to see how someone outside the environment sees things.
