@GentleThotSeaMonkey, Russian mail order brides are frequently used by scams. Therefore my post IS on-topic.

Your not a mod nor LQ, therefore you cannot speak for LQ. So back off. If mod's and/or LQ has issue with my post, that is up to them to address it, not yourself.

Chinese domain name fraudsters seem to be the current scourge. I get a few emails per week, about a .cn domain which is supposedly going to expire. (Sounding more and more desperate and "confused" at our "silence".)

I don't seem much of the classic 419 style stuff any more, but that's probably because spam filters have improved a lot.

Sad thing is. Back in the dial up internet days. My buddy who was a ancient car mechanic. Over a beer in the bar. Told me he won the lottery. I was not a computer owner then.

Them Nigerians cleaned him out.

He was not a sucker. Just a country boy car mechanic with a Windows XP laptop on dialup. A aged elder trusting soul new to the Internet.
