Check this out. I'm thinkin about gettin some. Don't come with an OS so it's real cheap. Nice desktop box basically but it's a server chassis. 3 IDE channels for a total of 6 devices. Room for 4 Hard Drives. Some other goodies.
Buy it, throw another stick of RAM in it and yer good to go
i first install linux in '98 on an old dell computer of mine. it was a 133 mhz with 32 megs of ram & 1.2 gig hd. it was $2999 back in '95 when we bought it.
The things that bugged me were the 128Mb and the 40Gb, its propped as a storage crate but is shipping with a base drive that I outclassed with my last machine build in 2001. Good PDC202xxx or HPT37x cards these days are skirting the neighborhood of $20 too...
For the $350 it only comes with 128MB RAM and a 40GB Drive.
I don't know about you guys, but I just can't fill up a 40GB Drive. Also, a 40 Gig is so cheap that I could buy a 512MB Stick of Crucial for about $61 and another 40GB for about $70.
