Unfortunately, I am without Linux right now. I had to go back to Windows XP. For some reason it's giving me a lot of problems!
one of them is with msn messenger. I set up my account on it but I can't log in.
whenever I go to log in, I get a message telling me that a newer version is available and asking me if I want to download it.
if I say yes, it will show a window downloading it. Then I clean on "log in" again and I get the same message asking me if I want to download the new version.
if I say no, then click on "log in" again, the same message pops up again.
No matter what I do, I always get that stupid message everytime I click on "log in"
I tried rebooting the computer and it didn't work.
I tried installing msn messenger again and it didn't work.
what is going on??
Is there another software I can use in Windows to get on the msn network (something like amsn for windows?)
I use Gaim at home, but have to use MSN at work because of firewall problems. MSN wouldn't be so bad if, you know, it worked most of the time. However, half the time I can't login or I get bumped after a couple of hours. Also, it can take several minutes for an IM to reach somebody in the next cube making the immediacy sort of moot.
If it wasn't for the people at work that insist on using MSN as opposed to Yahoo Messenger and the few friends that are on MSN and not Yahoo, I wouldn't use MSN at all. Grrr!
