has anyone had difficulty connectting to msn, i have tried using ALvaros'and Gaim but both return a error saying 'error reading from server' i rebooted and went into windows, and all seems fine, i'm back at linux
Sometimes. I ran into it mostly with everybuddy. I am no MSN guru, but I think they change their servers around sometimes to "foil" the non MSN messengers supporting their service. Best thing to do, change messengers Or, see if there is an update, or see if there is a way to find the "new" name of the server, and add it into GAIM's server part. I have to do that for Yahoo! every so often too.
thanks for the advice 'C' but its ok now, finally logged on, hmmm i get an error while trying to install the latest everybuddy by source......i get something like this....
In file included from main.c:55:
plugin.h:25:18: ltdl.h: No such file or directory
make[1]: *** [main.o] Error 1
make[1]: Leaving directory `/home/gt/downloads/everybuddy-0.4.3/src'
make: *** [all-recursive] Error 1
any help will do dude, i just couldn't be bothered downloadng the RPM....i'm using this cheap ass 33.6k modem cause my internal 56 is a 'winmodem'.....
Try running a "make clean" and starting over. I am not that good on problems like this, but that's what I'd do. Make clean, maybe poke around the Makefile a bit, see if there's any problems.
i cant sign into my msn messenger, everytime i try a box comes up sayin there might be something wrong with my internet connection...but thats working fine.this has been goin on for almost two weeks now,has anyone else had this problem and if so how do i get rid of it pls?
