Mail Filters

I am having mail filter problems with my ISP. They had Postini.com, and I would only get maybe 1 spam in the filter in a month. It really worked GOOD! And it was real easy to change settings.

The ISP changed to "Baracuda" All the users are complaining about it, they told me. I asked why did they change to something that everyone hated. They told me that "For what we were paying for 6 months of Postini, we bought Baracuda". I told them, "You got screwed!". This baracuda has so many spams coming into it, I really am upset. It does not get to my mail, but I still have to deal with it, trying to find the good stuff it has stopped along with the spam.

My question is, Has anyone seen anything that might indicate that Baracuda is generating this spam, just to make one think it is really doing its job?

Seems funny that soon as they changed, "INSTANT Spam"

I wonder if anyone else has experienced this problem.

At my last job, we used Barracuda's on our mail system and it worked wonders when configured properly. And going by total cost, they are relatively cheap compared to most other solutions.

The thing has so much repeated stuff (superfulous crap), that it takes away from the necessary info area.

I cant believe that all of a sudden, I am getting blasted with spam. I was on the net since Jan 98, and never had spam till Baracuda.

I wouldn't blame Barracuda but rather the administrators running it and the mail servers.

But they did such a good job with Postini! I was bragging to all my friends about how I had such a GOOD email filter. Now I tell them the complete opposite.

Oh well.. life sucks, then you die. Either deal with the spam, complain more or switch ISP's.

I was hoping someone else had a similar experience, that I could show them about it.

Today I went in to see how many there were there. I kept getting larger numbers, as I went back pages. There were over 610. Then get this, it finally went to page "12 of 11"! Now tell me Baracuda is not screwed up.
