Hi, what is your system?
My notebook is Intel Celeron-D based, 2.4GHz, 512MB Ram, it runs Windows XP Professional (pirate) and Suse 10.1, though perform bad in multi-tasking, but overall it is enough for internet surfing (which is my main activity).
I don't feel the need to upgrade it.
Well, I have a celeron M notebook 1.5ghz processor, 2gb ram, integrated intel graphics (no fancy nvidia or ati), and I run gnome with 3d desktop effects, and it does what I ask it to and then some. I can record a multi-track session with reverb effects, and the machine hums along without complaining.
It depends on what you want the machine to do. Suffice it to say, there is probably someone out there reading this on pentium I running console (no X) and using lynx or links2 as a browser looking aghast at my machine specs and thinking: "gigahertz ?! heck I haven't even broke 100mhz and I can surf the web just fine..."
