18 when I first attempted to install *nix
tried
k/unbuntu
redhat
suse
slackware
before finding out my laptop doesn't like linux
then I found I could boot into gentoo as a liveCD

few months later school started and one of my last courses was a unix course
so we got and old redhat version

now this year I use Solaris
bit awkward but it's nice

I was probably about 27 when I first installed Linux (I believe it was Red Hat 4.something). I'm 34 now, so I guess that was in the late 90s.

You know what I find amusing.

If this were a conversation with a non-geek, we'd probably be talking about the age when we first lost our virginity.
