cd /usr/local/bin
mv gxine xineg
ln -s xine gxine
So now when mozilla starts the plugin it will load xine-ui instead of gxine. If anyone knows any other way of doing this, please tell me, as this method seems kind of disorganized.

actually, in light of the fact that i can see no good way to politely ask gxine not to intercept what i had set up for xmms, this seems most appropiate.
pity, gzine seems promising but what's with taking over ?
