Hi...

No, it's not learned, it's already there by the time we are born.

From the page linked to above...

Quote:
Where did the sin nature come from? Scripture says that God created humans good and without a sinful nature: “God created man in His own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them” (Genesis 1:27). However, Genesis 3 records the disobedience of Adam and Eve. By that one action, sin entered into their nature. They were immediately smitten with a sense of shame and unfitness, and they hid from God’s presence (Genesis 3:8). When they had children, Adam’s image and likeness was passed along to his offspring (Genesis 5:3). The sin nature manifested itself early in the genealogy: the very first child born to Adam and Eve, Cain, became the very first murderer (Genesis 4:8).

From generation to generation, the sin nature was passed down to all of humanity: “Sin entered the world through one man, and death through sin, and in this way death came to all people, because all sinned” (Romans 5:12). This verse also presents the unsettling truth that the sin nature leads inexorably to death (see also Romans 6:23a and Ephesians 2:1).
Regards...

I'd hate to live in a country that didn't have police. I did live my early years in Detroit where the police were out gunned, out manned and had no community support. Why any cop would serve there is beyond me. I think that most folks here have never lived in some of the highest crime areas in the US. Cousinlucky may be one of the few by his reports.

Here is an example of my experiences. The local store was a small store. It had a bullet resistant glass window and a revolving container. You'd tell the clerk what food you wanted and they'd wait till you pushed money in to pay. Then they'd use the revolving drum to send out your food. All this was in response to the daily thefts and murders in these stores. You'd think that was secure but the next step the crooks did was to send bombs in the drums telling the clerks they had to pay up or they'd blow up the bomb. You couldn't have anything of value in your home even if it was protected by dogs and alarms. They would kill your dog and no one would come when the alarm sounds.

Why did it get so bad in these places?

Hi...

Would you like me to ask the same of you and the others for any posts that I happen not to like or disagree with?

As my first wife would have said, that remark has plucked my last nerve.

ardvark71, that is an invalid syllogism, and the smiley does not make it any less so.

It is one thing to occasionally post items with the content of which some might disagree or find annoying. It is quite another to do so continually and with an agenda.

I doubt that your aggressive proselytizing has converted one Linux geek, whereas I am confident that it has alienated many.

Speaking as someone who was raised Southern Baptist (before the SBC went bonkers), I feel constrained to point out that annoying persons is not an effective way of witnessing for the faith. It is, indeed, counterproductive.

Witnessing through works is far more effective than witnessing through words.

This is not a forum about religion. Personally, I find your attempts to shoehorn your beliefs into the discourse to be as a sounding brass or a tinkling cymbal, signifying nothing.

Just my two cents.

Please project that somewhere else. Understand that you make things worse by copying verses and putting them in a quote box.

I for one COMPLETELY DISAGREE with that blind faith assessment and instead agree with Jamison20000e on the point of environment.

@ardvark71 - I see nothing wrong with your posts. They are civil and in 'General', if people don't like them they should stop responding to them. Sin is the nature of Man.

Not at all, it's completely valid and I reiterate my point: What if I asked all of you not to say things that I didn't like or disagreed with? mjolnir is correct, this is the General forum and open to all topics and statements. I don't see anywhere where religious posts or threads are "banned" in this particular forum.

What do you consider to be my agenda? If it's to share the Good News with others and to offer the truth on certain points of discussion, then yes, I am guilty.

I don't consider it aggressive and while it's not my desire to antagonize you or the other who disagree with this form of witnessing, what about the others (new members or guests) who may need or want to hear the Gospel? It's kind of a fine line to try and negotiate but in any case, my freedom to post my thoughts shouldn't be restricted or removed just because you and others don't like hearing what I have to say.

In our society, meaning here in the United States, I would agree with you. This may not be the most effective way but it's one way that's available to reach out to folks.

In this case, jamison20000e made a statement that I know is not the truth and I rebutted it. Because it has to do with God or Jesus Christ, it's automatically no longer valid?

Regards...

But by your own logic and understanding. How would you explain my testimony and experiences here? Believe me, one can't just make up what the Lord has done in me and through me and the things I have seen.
