A member of my LUG alerted us to this story. It's hillarious...

/me is angry

darn you slashdot!!!!, thanks to you i cant open the page

but from the slashdot article, I'm confused what to do, feel sorry for some "hacker" *script kiddie** for thinking 127.0.0.1 was a real IP of someone else, or laugh at that persons stupidity.

either way its quite sad, lots of people know 127.0.0.1 is loopback, actually, everyone that has network experience should know, and certainly anyone trying to "hack" someone across a network should know. ...... this story is quite sad,

now that thats over with, thats all laugh at this "hacker", and curse slashdot (darn them!!!, i still cant got that page to load, been trying for a hour ......)

Something about the so-called "hacker" reminds me of a certain somebody who was peddling Windows Longhorn here quite recently.

I wonder why?

Which one? The hacker one or the longhorn one?

Here's the link at LQ.

There was an even funnier one at techpc forums, but you may get that link in that thread.

Go to the last few pages of that closed thread I mentioned. Even today, I cannot stop the tears from flowing down my eyes.

Some things defy description and that is one of them

The hacker friend was funny too... I only wish they had wound him up a bit more...
