Too bad. I guess I won't see it. I'm sure some like teckk will find this just as puzzling/annoying as I find those who consider Music or even just basic sound as "mildly convenient" but for me the squeeze isn't worth the juice. VLC has like 20 base dependencies, and possibly some sub dependencies, that would take up the better part of a full day for me to install and downloading or streaming video just isn't that compelling to me.
I tried the online player at https://www.hlsplayer.net/ and even disabled blockers (apparently an issue) but to no avail. As cool and potent as VLC is I'm not likely to struggle with installing it. I have numerous other video-based apps that accept URLs and I tried those, too. None work. If I had an error message I might figure it out and fix it, but all I get is crickets... dead crickets.
I did have my suspicions posted on my sig line but was asked to remove it.
Now science seems to be on board with the idea. https://www.msn.com/en-us/health/hea...dko?li=BBnb7Kz
If some cure happens then reducing distribution will help. If no cure is provided then Sweden's solution may end up being best.
I believe that overall health and the ability to raise your temperature early and keeping warm is and has always been good for colds. We call colds that word for a reason.
If I were to think I had Covid then I'd take actions that included foods and such that may help. Notice that many reports say the victims say they didn't want to eat?? Yes, eat, and drink plenty. Keep warm. Saltwater gargle. Just saying that would be my first aid.
What would anyone else consider trying? (I assume they might seek medical advice at some point)
I've been thinking how different our response to this pandemic is to what I remember of the Asian Flu pandemic of 1957. There was no lockdown then and nobody lost their job. Everybody got the flu sooner or later. I remember having it quite badly. A lot of people died of it, but most people didn't. Eventually herd immunity developed and the world moved on.
Of course there were a lot of differences, particularly in some of the groups who are most susceptible to covid-19 today and may, for all I know to the contrary, have been susceptible to Asian Flu as well.
1) There were few obese people around in those days. Every school had one or two "class fatties" but they were bullied precisely because their condition was unusual.
