Unhappy not enough space in / partition to upgrade

Hi,
I am currently using RHL9(RedHat Linux 9). I tried to upgrade to FC2 but returned with message that it is 24MB short of space in / partition. My HDD is partitioned into boot and / (with no mount points defined). The whole HD is occupied by linux(RH9). Boot partition is 98.7MB, / partition is 9.1GB, the swap partition is 188MB. My HDD capacity is 10.1GB (that's what is printed over the metal cover). I don't know what happened to approx. 700MB in HD. Any way to get that 24MB to proceed with that upgrade? Is there a way to get the free space in other partition to this partition? Is there any workaround i could install FC2(Fedora Core 2) on my HDD? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,

with regards,
Ashwin

Burn a Knoppix cd ,Use Qtparted to resize ur /boot partion
In my opinion 50mb is sufficient for /boot partition unless you want to have multiple kernel's.

And it's not a good idea to upgrade Rh-9 to FC, try installing a fresh copyand make a seperate partition for your /home.
