fedora 4 will not boot from the 1st CD
Hi All,
I am very new to linux installation. I downloaded 4 disk images FC4-i386-discX.iso and they all passed sha1sum.
I used nero 6 ultra edition --> Nero Burning Rom program to burn image to CDs. I burned the image, not the iso file itself. After I burned the first CD from FC4-i386-disc1.iso, I check the CD contents. Everything seems to be fine.
The problem is that the cd won't boot. The boot sequence is cd, and then hard disk. I am pretty sure my computer can boot from cd as it boots from Linux 9 first cd just now.
On my system, I installed linux 9 and I upgraded the kernel(not successful). I have windows 2000 professional. Dual boot grub. Now I decided to install fedora 4 instead. Should I remove the linux entry in grub to be able to boot from fedora 4 disc 1?
This problem has driven me crazy. I have spent 2 days on it. Downloading, checking, burning...
Thank you very much for your kind help!
