Hi there,
I have a new Toshiba A70-RW1 shipped with windows installed. I want to install FC3 or FC4. I mostly be using Linux but rarely may need windows and so want to keep windows as it is. The present RAM is 512 but I will be adding another 1GB soon. The disk size is 80GB and I want to keep about 8-10GB for windows, where I will be storing some pictures from GigCam so that I can share those from both linux/windows.
I need suggestion about HD partition. I plan for the following partitions:
/ , /usr , /home , /boot , /swp
All the user data will be in /home and any new softwares will be in /usr/local.
Can I keep the windows in the primary partition and put all of the linux partitions in the extended partition as logical? Where should I put the /boot and /swp? Do I really need a /boot?
An image of the recovery CDs are stored in HD. I am not sure of how to start with keeping windows untouch.
If there is some other suggestions, that would be great for me. May I take the opportunity to thank in advance.
