stop playing sound in fedora core 8, 2.6.24.7-92.fc8

My sound card is working nicely and I can hear test sound from the system-config-soundcard in fedora core 8. But when I play any sound application, then I could not hear any sound out of it. But I can remember it used to play sound earlier without making any problem.
Could you please help me?

Just 3 quick questions:
_ what sound card do you have? do you have a laptop or a desktop pc?
_ which program are you using to play music?

You are aware that support for F8 dropped over a year ago? There have been no updates since that time and there will not be any further official updates of any kind.

Thank you lazlow for your kind information. I am agree with you that fedora team has stopped to update core 8 since last year. But my sound card was working nicely 6 months ago. But i don't know why it is not playing sound now. It may be because of some changes of the software in my pc.

Thank you Matías for your kind interest to solve my problems regarding my sound card. Here, I am giving the answer of your questions
1) I am using Fedora core 8 in my PC.
2) I am using the sound card of followings:
a) Vendor: Intel Corporation
b) Model: 82801I(ICH9 family) HD audio Controller
c)Module: snd-hda-intel
3) I used to play youtube, mplayer, vlc player to hear the music.
I hope I have given the answer of you questions. Now I will be waiting for your solution.

Dear lazlow and Matías,
Now, I have solved my problem partially. Now I can hear sound from the application like mplayer, vlc player but not from YOUTUBE or some other websites. I am using firefox for my web browser.
Please help me.
