It seems like there is no way to get postfix convinced that it should (or even could) use a mysql database for it's users' usernames and passwords, except for a custom installation through the sourcefiles.
Thank you for replying! No, mysql does not appear in the list of modules. I was hoping that somehow standalone modules were possible in Postfix and of course they are available.
