baseurl=http://apt.sw.be/fedora/$releasever/en/$basearch/dag
gpgcheck=1
enabled=1
Once thats done, do as root,
and then

I have experience with FC3 and FC4
Again they are not noob friendly at all.
The more number of times a person has to use the console.
The less noob-friendly it is.
I am not saying Fedora is not a powerful distro.
In fact, once set - it should be pretty easy to use (for the end-user)
Fedora is my distro of choice when it comes to ATI drivers.
Beautiful Bitstream Vera fonts also (ideal for Linux unfriendly laptops)
I install Desktop Linux for fun.
My victims tend to be absolutely non-technical people, really.
My aim is to make it as painless as possible for them.
They enjoy the final result.
But on many occasions I gasp for air.
Almost fainted went I got wireless working on a Samsung running Fedora 4.
(Shame dial-up seemed pretty impossible at this time)
See, if you encourage saying Desktop Linux installation is easy.
You encourage accidents - like people wiping their hard-drive.
(I've seen that happening too many times)
And then they tell others Linux is horrible + useless - which is unfair.
So I rather tell people, that the experience is pretty challenging
and there is a steep learning curve - that they will need help
and we are here to help.
If they insist to do it all by themselves, I wouldn't recommend Fedora
because in the spectrum of "noob" easiness
it is "middle" way.
Puppy Linux / Linspire / Xandros (being on the easy end)
Slackware / Debian / Gentoo .. (being on the hard end)
It depends on their background, time and disposition.
People with Windows Administration experience may not find Fedora as hard.
But the casual computer user - a business man - definitely would find it impossible.
Someone pushed Slackware on this guy who never had previous Linux experience.
Result? He wiped off his girlfriend's hard drive.
Fedora 3 is not noob-friendly at all.
There are a dozen of way more friendlier distros to test-drive.
I would have gone Xandros.
Or to be on the safe side .. cheat, use a Linux Live CD.

So those are my reasons.
And it pays to be distro-flexible.
