Angry Fedora Core 2 console problem

Links, menuconf(linux kernel) are all broke (displaying incorectly).

Don't say just run X11 it is normal for me to be running X11 as my normal users and having partical tasks working in back ground. Allso it is partically handy when I stuff stuff up to connect from console. I cannot use a irc program nicely or anything.

There must be a work around that fixs this or a least I hope there is.

I know they work since they work in Xterm just not on the console ie they sould work on both.

Hi,

Are your NCURSES and NCURSES-DEV libraries installed correctly?

Many console applications use the NCURSES library...

You could to do an update:

-> http://www.gnu.org/software/ncurses/ncurses.html

Remember, do you need to specify an '--prefix' to 'configure' program adjust the installation path to replace your current installation of nCurses, otherwise it you be installed in /usr/local/*.

Try and give some feedback...

Sincerely,

I will have to try swaping the Ncurses by the sound of it

The problem is that I did a full install of fedora core 2 basicly every thing in install yes a 80g linux space kinda makes installing easy install everything disable what I don't need latter.

I do have a Nvidia card have replaced kernel with a standard one but the problem existed before I did that. This is just strange that things don't work. I was hoping that I had just missed something simple that was killing it. The thing is that if NCURSES was not install the programs would not work in the Xterm either had me majorly confursed.

I hope the newer verson fixes it.

Thanks for the install note I would have stuffed that up too.

Angry No luck still stuffed in console mode

When I say console mode I mean init 3.

Same problems as above all the same faults.

My card is a gforce 2 if this has something to do with it has to be a setting or a card miss match problem somewhere I guess or a fault in ncurses problem is I don't have a clue how to rule this stuff out.

If I knew where it was I would try to build a code patch problem is never had anything like it. Note a lot of programs on my normally have minor changes but this is one of the few times I have not even installed any of my custom mods.
