Fedora core 2 problem

my chip set a i440 (pentium 2) does not like kernel 2.6.7 someone after i installed it finally told me 2.6.8 is out with some bugfixes will some one help me with a step by step instruction of the upgrade to 2.6.8
as i am a noob. thank you i know you guys will be able to help me.

the first job u can do is geturself a copy of the 2.6.8 kernel from kernel.org and then see if it supports ur chip
by untarring it and then
#make xconfig

for configuring ur kernel u will get good advice at
