Faster boot time on core 3

I have incridebly long boot times with fedora core three. I would really like to make it smaller. I need to know where to start though so can someone lend a hand and tell me what info I need to give you and tell me where to start! Thanks!

Oddly enough, there was a good article posted on that recently. It's right here:

try turning off kudzu once your set up you don't need to continually redetect your hardware.

when your booting select I so you can see which services are slowing you down.
but I know on my fed 3 when i turned kudzu off went from about 10 minute boot to 1 minute.

If only you didn't have to exagerate so much? Even with Kudzu on no pc will boot in 10 minutes... Maybe talk some sense.

I am factual.
by the way did you have to go to school to learn to be such an ass or is it a natural gift?

Oh I'm sorry, am I an ass just because I pointed out you were exagerating? Believe it or not, we do have schools in South Africa, I know Americans tend to think we are simpletons with elephants in our backyards - but that's when I start to question your education....

Thanks for the help guys, but I switched back to Mandrake. Fedora had to many problems with my box in general. And please refrain from falming in the future! We all have our differences. My box without my dhcp server on had close to a 7 minute boot time, with it on took about 2 minutes so I can see a 10 minute boot time, and yes most parts of Africa are highly educated.

Thanks, but I dont like gnome and I tried hoary hedgehog a while back and did not like it. Anyway Im on dial up again so trying another distro is out of the question for the moment. I would like to try debian eventually and when I get back on my broadband go to Gentoo. But that may be a while yet. For now Mandrake just works solidly for what I want and works well. Despite the lack of games in the repositories as I've seen so far it work rather well.
