External hdd problem, and autologin

Two questions:
1. fc5 seems to see my usb hard drive as a usb flash drive? i think this because when i plug it in, an icon pops up on the desktop, and when i try to explore the drive, it says the format is not recognized(it is ntfs)

2. autologin still asks for the password of the user. i thought i read that this was a problem, but the current fix has bugs??

1. FC5 doesn't come with built-in support for ntfs. You have to install the proper 'kernel-module-ntfs'package for your kernel along with 'ntfs-kmod-common' package. These are available in livna repo. Also Check http://linux-ntfs.org/

2. What kinda bugs??
