External HDD Help

Hi guys!

I have a Maxtor External USB HDD, my problem is i dont know how to use it with my slackware. I dont have any idea how to start with it. Please Help.

plug it in and power it a terminal see for dmesg

$ dmesg | tail

This will give you device block and partition...then all you do is mount that partition at a place of your choice.
