Angry eggcups and gnome-volume-manager error

I'm using FC3 with Gnome on an Athlon 2,6 with 512 Ram and 2 HD Maxtor (20 and 80GB), had never problems but now when I boot the machine there are two errors:
eggcups and gnome-volume-manager shut down inexpected, inform the developers or restart the service.....
Could there be an error with my harddisks? Perhaps one of them is not ok or does the error depends on other things?
Anyone has an idea how to came out of this problem?
Thanks a lot

eggcups and gnome-volume-manager error

See this link for a discussion of this problem, which has apparently affected many users after performing rpm upgrades (via yum, etc.) on their systems: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/bugzilla....cgi?id=140081

...and this link to a previous discussion started by dareino on this forum on 11/20/2004:

RESULT!

Re installed FC3 yesterday.......again...... and updated using up2date, installed nvidia drivers and everything seemed good. Just booted up and again got the eggcups and gnome volume manager error windows with no wallpaper.......again.

Just like to say NICE ONE, thanks. The info in the links provided above worked like a charm.

Ok, can you try http://download.fedora.redhat.com/pu...0.fc3.i386.rpm. Then rerun /etc/cron.daily/prelink.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Ok Jakup's prelink rpm did the trick for me. I already had the updates from Up2date and the other attempts to prelink w/o your patch did not work. I started the prelink before i went to bed so i don't know how long it ran. Thank you
What is different in prelink-0.3.3-1?
Eric
I found the bugzilla thread on my own and came here to post what worked for me and found this thread...good work...
