Bad Flicker Problem
Is there anything i can do to fix the flicker problem on fedora. I noticed when the screen saver turns on the animation is not smooth its like its not synced or something
I get bad Flicker too but its not in the screen saver. When ever i'm in a terminal when I use tab to finish a word and keep pushing tab, the screen will rapidly flicker everything to white. I don't know if its a gnome bug or fedora, but it starting to get on my nerves.
What vid card are you using. Most likely your configuration is using a generic driver or vesa. This will cause erratic behavior. Especially under nvidia cards.

its a laptop with a radeon mobility 9000 128meg. fedora detected it as a radeon mobility m9 i figured that was probably as close as i was going to get with a custom video card
you are most definitely going to install the proper drivers to aleviate this problem. Be sure the amount of memory used is set to 128 Mb in the system settings area. I believe you can find the drivers at ATI's website or do a google search to see if someone has created one specifically for your card yet. Unfortunately this is all the help I can offer you on this problem. Have you run update through C-n-R yet? Sometimes this will install the proper driver for your system if it is available. But I doubt it is in there. Good luck!
i installed knoppix on hdd on my acer aspire 1310.
my screen flickers. but it only can be seen where light colours are.
if i put a black background on it, it's fine.
