Wierd Screen Flicker Problem
I have a Samtron 96B Monitor and I'm experiencing a wierd flicker on the left side of the screen that gradually fades across the whole monitor. This happened after I ran SuSE 8.2 in "Safe Mode" for the first time, which passes the option vga=normal to the boot loader, which I believe is GRUB by default. Since then, I've had this flicker, even when not running "Safe Mode". I know that it isn't the monitor or a refresh rate problem. When SuSE 8.2 boots, it displays a splash screen that is drawn using some kind of framebuffer, I think. During this period there is no flicker whatsoever. It only happens in X. And while in X, this flicker persists regardless of the resolution and/or color depth.
Has anyone had a similar problem?
If not, could someone at least tell me the other options for the vga in the GRUB, I think, boot loader? or offer other advice?
Thank you for your help. This flicker has been giving me a headache for two days now.
