2.6.10-1.770_FC3 Reboot Fail with Nvidia 7174 Driver

The new Nvidia 7174 works fine on my Precision 670 running Fedora 2.6.10-1.770_FC3 **UNTIL** I perform a reboot. I've tried replacing other="" with other="nvidia" in rc.sysinit, tried modprobe nvidia in rc.local, and placed /dev/nvidia in /etc/udev/devices/. The reboot hangs at following "...network done [OK]." and at the point where the graphical screen should start. In order to get the system booted, I've had to reboot with an earlier kernel, replace xorg.conf with the default xorg.conf file, reboot into 2.6.10-1.770_FC3 (which boots fine), and replace the xorg.conf with the modified nvidia xorg.conf file. Restarting the xserver then restores normal operation. There's gotta be a better way.

Thanks for any advice.

I _think_ but dont quote me on this that there are problems with 7174 and the 2.6.10 kernel and you need to upgrade to 2.6.11 which is currently in updates/testing. I'm running 2.6.11 and 7174 w/out any problems. If you browse my bookmarks I have listed links for getting nvidia drivers to work with FC3 - it sounds like you may have gone the long way around.
Cheers
Chris

I just updated to 2.6.11-1.14_FC3smp, successfully re-ran NVIDIA-Linux-x86-1.0-7174-pkg1.run, and rebooted. Same issue where the system hangs when it reaches the graphics phase of the boot process. I can reboot using an unmodified kernel, swap the xorg.conf files (nvidia vs vanilla) and reboot into the new kernel ok. Certainly not optimal. Any ideas are welcome. Thanks!
