xmms used to be stable, but now crashes

Hi everybody,

I hope anyone can help me: since some days xmms crashes immediately after starting, when I start xmms appears very shortly in the taskbar and then disappears.

I'm using Debian Sarge, with kde, gnome, fluxbox and enlightenment (and I have possibly installed xfce in the past, don't remember exactly). I'm using a custom kernel with lm_sensors, bootsplash and the nvidia-drivers.

I think I'm having the problem since I downloaded and installed updates, and since started using a kernel with nvidia-drivers.

When I start xmms from the terminal, I get the following error:

Code:
stargazer@debian:~$ xmms

stargazer@debian:~$
In gnome I have the same problem, I only don't get the warnings about Gtk.

Does anyone know what this errormessage means, or how I can solve this problem? I'm starting to miss my favorite mp3-app . Thanks...

Corien

Problem solved! Sorry for asking the question...

I solved it by installing libmikmod2. Yet a strange problem, maybe some update in sarge deinstalled libmikmod somehow???

Have you tried to boot with another kernel, without the nvidia-drivers?

That is a bug that has been around forever have you heard of the apt-listbugs package yet, you may want to give it a try.

Thanks anyway, littlemidget. I got the idea to install libmikmod just after I posted the message. Stupid...

Hmm, apt-listbugs looks interesting, I'll try it. Thanks for the tip happytux!
