video playback


hi. when i try to play videos (DVD, avi, divx...) the movies does not play smoothly. it has a kind of a lag in between frames. could someone tell me how to fix that? i am using sarge and i use kplayer, xine, totem, vlc as multimedia players.

I suggest to install the libdvdcss package. However, it's a controversial package as the entertainment industry sees it as 'infringing patents' and such, so I won't give you a link (to protect the LQ-website). But you'll find the package with Google Mind you, the industry was defeated in court when they sued the writer of the package, a guy from Norway.
