WINE and Cedega spring to mind. What sort of .exe file? Linux doesn't use them natively.

It depends. Do you have Wine?
What kind of application is it?

Is it a pure DOS based application or there are different kind of API's used?

Made something similar as that in Micro$oft Visual Basic?

ActiveX is both a purely Windows thing and a security hole. If you are looking to run it in IE, use Wine and go to www.frankscorner.org for help with setting it up.

activeX is quite tricky to setup I would say the best (well worse... ;-) ) idea would be to make it run within IE (with wine or crossover)... not even sure it works but it's probably the easier way to have it working...
