How to get splashy to work?

After getting lots of problems with usplash, I removed id and installed splashy on my Debian/sid box, but could not start splashy. I got the following error:

$ splashy test
commandline read: test
Splashy ERROR: libsplashy: Framebuffer is not configured properly please see http://tinyurl.com/339h67
Splashy ERROR: Couldn't splashy_start_splashy(). Error -2

I tried to open http://tinyurl.com/339h67 but for some reason I was not able. Can some one help?
