Hi,
GNOME 2.4

Thanks for your advice.
Something strange found as follows;
# apt-get install ntp-simple
Reading Package Lists... Done
Building Dependency Tree... Done
ntp-simple is already the newest version.
0 upgraded, 0 newly installed, 0 to remove and 57 not upgraded.
# which ntp-simple
# whereis ntp-simple
# whereis ntpsimple
# which ntpsimple
all no printout
# /etc/init.d/ntpdate start
-su: /etc/init.d/ntpdate: No such file or directory
# which ntpdate
# whereis ntpdate
# find / -name ntpdate
all no printout
# /etc/init.d/ntp-simple start
Starting NTP server: ntpd.
Nothing happened, no questions popup for answering
# find / -name ntp-simple.conf
no printout
# find / -name ntp.conf
/etc/ntp.conf
/var/cache/setup-tool-backends/backup/time/First/etc/ntp.conf
/var/cache/setup-tool-backends/backup/time/1/etc/ntp.conf
/var/cache/setup-tool-backends/backup/time/2/etc/ntp.conf
/var/cache/setup-tool-backends/backup/time/3/etc/ntp.conf
I read those files with 'nano' and found all empty
Any advice?
TIA
B.R.
