Help with installing Gnome Desktop Change !!!

i was looking for a program to change my background picture in GNOME in a given time to another pictures, like a slide show like in KDE. And i found Gnome Desktop Change from google. I searched it from rpmdrake but rpms are not available so i downloaded the source.tar and trying to compile it. when i do ./configure,this error comes out at the end:

package gconf-2.0 wasnt found in the pkg-config path.
perhaps you should add the directory containing "gconf-2.0.pc" to the PKG_CONFIG_PATH enviroment variable.

configure:error: required library is missing...

i checked if i have gconf-2.0 from remove packages and i found only these :

GConf-1.0.9-15mdk (+ lib file )
GConf2-2.6.4-2mdk (+ lib file )

what should i do? should i find and install gconf-2.0 or something else? Whenever i try to install these source.tars, i am afraid to fsck up the system so i am asking help...

I am using mandrake 10.1 with gnome 2.6 ...
