Yahoo Mail is known to have garbaged up javascript, and Firefox has it's own javascript problems. Disable javascript, and you'll probably be OK. That's "javascript" ... not "Java"

I disabled javascript, the first thing I noticed is when I am using my yahoo mail, it takes me to a page I did not want to go to, it says things about...
Yahoo! Mail

Yahoo! Mail, Address Book, and Calendar are new and improved!
We now offer a new look, and easier navigation.

You need to have JavaScript enabled in order to use the new design.

* Follow the instructions below to enable JavaScript OR
* Switch back to the old version

Disabling Javscript is not the answer/solution.

Try running Firefox in Safemode, if it does not crash; the problem is an extension or theme causing problems,

If it still crashes try creating a new Firefox profile.

Yahoo is my homepage and unlike others I have never had a problem there.

Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.8.0.6) Gecko/20060728 Firefox/1.5.0.6 (Debian-1.5.dfsg+1.5.0.6-5)
