howto enable ip forwarding on debian etch stable ?

ipv4 routing in itself is a case of "echo 1 > /proc/sys/net/ipv4/ip_forward" or modifying /etc/sysctl.conf, but for your end result you may well want to do a lot more, but that depends on what you really want to achieve.
