First of all, you have Sarge, Etch ,Woody or Sid?Do you have your network configured? Maybe you have DHCP and yo did not conf it properly? If you have GNU/HURD and you want DHCP , forget.
I'm running Debian Etch, it says so in the Distribution field, under my name. I'm pretty sure I don't have dhcpd insalled. My internet works, so I'm getting the correct ip address from my router.
doing an aptitude update isn't the only one having the problem. When I try to compile HandBrake, it uses wget to get some stuff for it to work. It works for a while, then changes the ip address from the one it was using to 1.0.0.0. This is really starting to bother me, please?
