apt-get error

After updating apt-get, I asked it to install mozilla-firefox, after downloading all the dependencies, while upgrading libc6, i got an error
/usr/bin/perl: relocation error: /lib/ Symbol_errno, version GLIBC_2.0 not defined in file
after that, i am not able to install anything using apt-get and any program i run i get the above error message.

I am new to Debian, so please help me.
