mouse does not work in DSL

I finally got DSL to boot and run, and when I tried to move the mouse, it lost the pointer! I selected the correct type mouse: ps2 but, it doesn't work. I might try another mouse from my computer at work. it has a little mini-mouse which is USB.

well DSL can be funny with mice ie: my ibm PC at work has a usb mouse but if i select 'usb mouse' on startup it doesn't work. I have to select ps2 then it does.
