Couldn't log in to my isp home page

Posted 04-11-2009 at 02:49 PM by uinseann

A while back, when trying to log in to my isp home page to look at my email (I try not to download it unless it's important .... which I'm not! so there you go!), I couldn't get in! It let me enter my password etc, then directed me to another page which informed me that my browser was not supported and I needed Internet Explorer, or Firefox! Well, I was using Firefox so what did they mean? I noticed they never mentioned Opera?

I asked my wife, who uses Firefox with that other operating system, to let me try to log in? Sure enough I got straight in. So as far as I could see basically they didn't like me using Linux!! I had to ask myself Why? The only conclusion I could come to is, Linux is too secure for them and they can't do their dastardly deeds with my surfing etc!

I sent an email telling them what was happening and what I thought they were up to! I also told them to not worry as I could just download my mail, and left it at that.I never received a reply, but strangely enough, the very next day, I walked straight into my account? Obviously, they realized if I wasn't going to visit my home page, they couldn't advertise all their s+@t to me! Who knows what they will come up with next?
