Setting up network

I just finished installing arch linux, but i am now having trouble setting up my network. I configured my own kernel, by hand, including my nic as a module '8139cptoo.o'. When my system first boots, and i do lsmod, there are no modules listed, so then i do insmod 8139cptoo, when that doesn't work i do 8139cptoo.o. Do i have to edit files to enable swapping that module in?? My system connects via ethernet to my d-link dsl router. Is there a sinfle command to set up my network (like netconfig in slackware)?

And help would be appreciated!

Abe_The_Man,

With a setup like yours, you shouldn't have to do anything more ambitious than editing /etc/rc.conf at the end of the installation to make eth0="dhcp" and to insure you've enabled your card in the kernel. Now I'm assuming here that your dsl router doubles as a dhcp server which is the way a lot of people do it. The Arch install is relatively easy so you may wish to reinstall rather than attempt unconfiguring what you've already configured to make sure you've got a pristine system in the end. Keep us posted.
