AIX: cannot execute binary files

Hi guys!

I am trying to start a linux programm on AIX 5.1!
The installation of the programm was no problem, but when i am trying to start it, i became the answer:

dti: cannot execute binary file (dti is the name of the file)

I am new on AIX and i don`t know what to do now

You mention dti being a linux program (binary) and installing it on an AIX 5.1 os. What did you actually do?

In general, a linux binary will not run on another os. AIX 5.1 is unix (ibm specific unix). Although there are similarities between unix and linux they are not the same!

Only if the maker of dti has an AIX binary version prepared or the sourcecode can be compiled on AIX you will be able to use dti on an AIX system.

what do you see if you type "file ./dti" ?
Does it reply "xcoff 64 program" ?
or does it simply say "binary file" ? The pictures from my camera are also binary files...
