Cannot execute binary file


Hi i just installed YDL 3.0.1 on my 800mHz iBook and when i try to run a binary file ( counter-strike hlds ) it gives me an error ( cannot execute binary file ) i have no idea what the problem is the permissions to the .bin file are correct ..hmm HELP ! :P

There's different kinds of binary files such as ELF and COFF. You need to find out what kind of binary file it is and then see if it is supported by your kernel.

btw, I forgot to say it before but to find out what kind of file it is, type

file filename

well if your going to want to play cs. Your going to need a windows emulator Like Winex and thats a whole nother story.

Or if its teh linux server, you have to give it execute permission. Do this to make permission.

chmod u+x hlds.exe

Did you compile the binary yourself? If not are you sure it has been compiled for PPC architecture?
There is no way you can run an x86 compiled binary on PPC.
