I find KDEnlive to be very easy to use and it has a built-in DVD creation wizard. Give it a shot.

Others say Kino is simple but I've never understood its workflow; AVIdemux is also useful to do a few effects to the whole video (crop, reverse, etc) but I've never understood how to use that app to do NLVE either.

A great part about FLOSS is that these options are all free to try out, you know?
