I vote for Mencoder. But, Devede and K9copy they were good options, is true.

Kino & Avidemux

I'd vote for both of these because I use them together but Avidemux makes much more control of size & quality possible in rendering.

tovid gets my vote, its been very reliable for me for a long time now..

cinellera looks the part, but eats my system and overkill for what i do...

I use mandvd and devede a lot too.
