diablo-jre-1.5.0.07.01 Wants older dependency at install

Hi All,

I'm trying to install JRE for firefox 2.0.0.12 on freebsd 7.0 Release. The Handbook instructs me to install: Diablo JRE 1.5.0-7. When I try via pkg_add, I get:

pkg_add: warning: package 'diablo-jre-1.5.0.07.01' requires 'xorg-libraries-6.9.0', but 'xorg-libraries-7.3_1' is installed
pkg_add: warning: package 'diablo-jre-1.5.0.07.01' requires 'javavmwrapper-2.0_6', but 'javavmwrapper-2.3' is installed

How do I deal with it wanting a dependency that is older than the one I already have installed?

Caveat: I'll plead ignorance on this one. I haven't been following the Sun java/FBSD developments closely.

That said...

The latest binaries I've seen provided for download are > 1 year old already. This is reflected in the old versions of required packages you're seeing the jre package call for.

Two options to consider:

Install from ports. This is probably the best approach.
Force the package to add (-f) and cross your fingers. (Some packages are obviously going to be more forgiving than others.) You're on your own if you go this way.

Do the following commands

portsnap fetch
portsnap update
pkg_add -r portupgrade-devel
pkdb -Fa
portupgrade -a

cd /usr/ports/diablo-jdk/
make && make install && make clean
