need help picking and installing a p2p program for vector linux
hi im a linux newbie i have installed vector linux light edition 5.8 i know its a slackware based distrobution and i want to know if someone could help me find a p2p program and help me install it on here i would really appreciate it. Thank you to anybody that helps me.
Ok i pulled it up and slapt-get, pkg is my package manager but i still dont know which p2p program to download or how i would go about installing it im new to linux i love linux i use to use it on my brother computer when i lived with him but im on my own now and i want to learn. I appreciate your help.
ktorrent, xtorrent, qtorrent, azureus, bittorrent, mldonkey, gnutella are all p2p applications. Ktorrent is easiest for bittorrent. (You can also install from the slackware site)
Ok thank you for your help can i ask you another question thats not related to p2p program I dont know if you know the answer or not but i have downloaded like 10 or 11 different iso's and from diferent mirrors and websites but everytime i download one and try to burn it the md5sum never checks out good its always bad why is that
i read the website link you gave me and thats just telling me about the packages that come with vector linux or does that mean if i download a program and save it to the desktop when i run gslpat and update the package manager the program i downloaded from the internet and saved to the desktop will be in there?
can someone help me download and install ares lite or something similar to that because im a total newbie to linux and i dont know where to start or what to do but i got to have music can someone please help me
Does anyone know how to install a bittorrent on vector linux? I need help installing a bittorrent on here. I need someone that could help me step by step what to do. Treat me like an idiot i just want someone to help me. i want to be taught how to do it because i want to learn more about linux. I have searched google and searched google but i can't really find anything for vector linux except reviews for it. So can somebody please help me.
I don't know how to install ktorrent. I thought xmms and kmplayer and stuff like that was just so you could listen to music. I want to be able to download it.
Thank you for your help. I really appreciate it. On the how to page i read about gslapt i didnt read the other stuff because i didn't think it applied to me because i had gslapt. I will try what you said to try and then i will post back and let you know if it worked or if i did something wrong. Again i really appreciate your help and your time.
I downloaded from the first website link you gave me. I downloaded the file ktorrent-2.2.6-i486-1.tgz, but i dont know what to do now. could oyu walk me through it please.
